Fire door inspection software with a register that stays current.
A door register held by location, check routines recorded against the door they were carried out on, and any failure raised as a defect the moment it is found.
Door checks produce paper faster than anyone can file it
The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 brought regular checks of communal fire doors and flat entrance doors into scope for many residential blocks. In a building with ninety doors that is a great deal of recording, and the recording is the part that has to survive — a check carried out and not evidenced is indistinguishable from a check not carried out.
The other half of the problem is what happens after a failure. A door with an excessive gap gets noted on a clipboard, typed into a spreadsheet, emailed to a contractor, and then lives in three places with three different statuses.
One register, checks against the door, failures straight to defects
Doors are registered by location with their type and rating, so the register describes the building rather than listing door numbers with no context. Check routines are recorded against each door with their findings, building a history per door rather than a stack of undated inspection sheets.
When a check fails, the failure becomes a defect without anyone re-typing it. The defect keeps its link back to the check that found it, so close-out evidence lands against the original finding — which is what makes the record hold up when somebody asks how a fault was dealt with.
Fire Doors
Door checks recorded where the door is.
- Door register by location, with type and rating
- Check routines recorded against each door, with findings
- Failures raised as defects without re-typing them
What this is not
The platform records what an inspector found; it does not judge whether a door is compliant and does not replace a competent door inspector. It also holds no view on whether your check frequency is right for your building — that follows from the regulations and your assessment, not from the software.
Common questions
- Does it cover both communal and flat entrance doors?
- Yes. Doors are registered by location with their type and rating, and check routines are recorded per door, so different check frequencies for different door types sit on the same register.
- Can inspectors record checks on site?
- Checks are recorded against the door with their findings, and inspections capture photo evidence at the point of inspection rather than being written up afterwards from notes.
- What happens to a door that fails a check?
- The failure is raised as a defect carrying its link back to the check, so the remedial work and its close-out evidence sit against the original finding rather than in a separate list.
